Padania Football Association

Padania FA

The Padania National Team was created twice: once by the political party called Lega Nord, functioning between 2008 and 2012. During this period the Padania national team took part in three editions of the Viva World Cup, winning all of their thirteen matches and thus becoming three times Champions of the world. In 2013 the newly established management, as Padania F.A., called for a new team and joined CONIFA. Padania has been taking part in CONIFA competitions since the 2014 World Football Cup.

Padania are the reigning champions of the European Football Cup as in 2017 they were able to defend their first title won in 2015. However they have yet to win their first World Football Cup, having been previously eliminated in the quarterfinals of the tournament in 2014 and in the semis in 2016.

Stefano Tignonsini captains the side from its beginnings; the defender is the most capped player of Padania. Andrea Rota has the most goals for the side with seven among active players. He plays as a midfielder, and he is the only player who has scored at least one goal in every tournament held by CONIFA. Another star player of the team is Marco Garavelli, a forward, who also played in every tournament organised by CONIFA.
